A little intro...

So I have created this blog as part of a project in aim to reach other students, designers and people with similar interests to share examples of my work, as well as an odd bit here and there of things relating to fashion, art and design and places that I’ve been that have helped shape me into who I am and what has influenced me. Enjoy!

Design Development

This is some design work produced from this year and 1st year where we look at fashion trends, things that inspire us as well as trends happening globally, socially and economically. Some of these designs are hand drawn and others have been worked on using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

Year 1: Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 knitwear trend inspired by York.
I wanted to post these up to show the development process from researching the trend and relating it to York, to developing a mood board and finally design ideas.

Research into the trend:

I do have some design ideas for this trend but dont seam to have them around me so will be posting these up later!

Year 2: Research into Japanese designer, Yohji Yamamoto and development of own collection.
In groups we researched the designer from where he started to now studying his style and key peices, what inspires him and other similar designers. From this we looked into some trends for Autumn/Winter 11/12 that are similar to his style. We then went onto designing our own collection of 10 outfits working in his style.

If I'm honest, it looks nothing like what I had intended for my collection! I really wanted to develop my designs further on Illustrator, but just completely ran out of time with the mountain of work I had to dive into as well as other complications! But what I did learn from this project is to try not to think too much about the little things or how I want it to look in the end and just go for it! Any way, this is what I produced...
